Ryu Hayabusa is the lead character for the game that is Ninja Gaiden Sigma. As a well-known Super Ninja, Ryu leads a rather solitary life and you will feel rather lonely while playing the game, until that is, you meet up with either friend or foe?
A member of the Hayabusa Ninja clan and of the impressive and very rare Dragon lineage ninja fighter, it is Ryu Hayabusa’s sole duty to maintain peace and exact revenge on the evil Emperor of the hated Vigoor Empire!
Ryu’s father, Ken Hayabusa, is the leader of the Hayabusa Ninja clan and is the one that has given his son one of the most precious of all ninja weaponry, the Dragon weapon. This weapon of mass destruction is ancient and has been passed down from Hayabusa to Hayabusa, and now it is in Ryu’s masterful hands.

A Vigoorian Fiend Hunter, Rachel has both the battle-hardened ability, as well as the natural beauty, to face off with all that stands in her way! Armed with her favorite weapon, the impressive War Sledge Hammer, this femme fatal has one agenda and that is to find her long lost sister. Along with the hammer, Rachel possesses a rapier, and a useful rope.
To Ryu, Rachel is seen as a great ally, and a friend if not a love interest? Rachel has a unique power that is both appealing to Ryu and a bit unnerving as well. With extrasensory perception abilities, that is light years ahead of most others in the Ninja Gaiden Sigma action game, this female fighter is a very important ally to the revenge attitude that Ryu is always thinking about!
Doku
Doku
There is one aspect and characteristic that Doku is best known for, and that is his undying allegiance and loyalty, to the holy Vigoor Emperor. This places Doku at odds, by proxy, with Ryu Hayabusa. To speak of this major antagonist in Ninja Gaiden Sigma, as anything but a thorn in Ryu’s side, is to be off the mark, so to speak. This is a bad dude and one that Ryu has to be aware of at all times.
He is the lord of the fiends and inasmuch as he is their leader, he is the one that instructs these evil doers, in whatever they do and that is to stop Ryu from his revenge quest! His weapon of choice is the dangerous and anciently cursed weapon, Kitetsu. One of the most interesting anatomical characteristics of Doku is his body. There is some type of blue spirit energy, which can be seen seeping through his terrifying mask.

The leader of the Shadow Clan, Murai is the one that informs and identifies to Ryu, the very attackers that destroyed his home village. The Vigoor Empire invaders wish Murai were dead as he alone, has the information that Ryu desires, in the identification of those responsible for the Hayabusa Village carnage.
Ayane

In Ninja Gaiden Sigma, there is one extremely beautiful and deadly to all evil doers, character. Ayane is that femme fatal and is a central assistor to Ryu Hayabusa. Ayane is a secret agent of Murai, and refers to Ryu Hayabusa as ‘Master Ryu’. A most important part and main espionage character, of Ryu’s mission, Ayane assists him from the shadows, gathering information for the Superb Ninja, with the art of secret espionage.

Doku has a powerful monster in his allegiance, and that is Alma. Doku created this hideous yet powerful demonic monster to help him destroy Ryu and all of those that dare to assist this lead protagonist.
Dark Disciple

Another friend to Ryu and one of the most important to the entire action game of Ninja Gaiden Sigma is The Dark Disciple. The true identity of this masked agent is not known but what is suspected is that he is the leader and controller of Gamov.
With his secretive black hat, darkened mask and the extra-long robe, coupled with a device-altered voice, this is one magnificent and exciting character! The main benefit, which The Dark Disciple has to Ryu and the adventure itself, is the Dark Dragon Blade. Once this powerful weapon is safely in the hands of the Dark Disciple, the advantage that is given to Ryu, is increased exponentially. The Dark Dragon Blade’s power increases as Ryu engages in battles with evil enemies!
Gamov
Gamov
Dressed in a green coat with a round hat and military sunglasses, Gamov is a spy dressed for success! Ryu first encounters Gamov in the seedy club called Han’s Bar. A very perceptive character, Gamov observes Ryu’s battle and learns a great deal about Rachel and the desired
Dark Dragon Blade. Gamov comes ready to fight with not one but two powerful double pistols.
Muramasa
Muramasa
Muramasa is an elderly blacksmith known for traveling all over the realm in his unending search for great weaponry. A weapons expert, Ryu notices this character trait and decides to align himself with Muramasa. This proves to be a wise and battle-tactful move as Ryu’s weaponry is strengthened as well as his health (Ki) from the association.
Muramasa is benefited as well from the partnership with Ryu as he is given essential essences that promote a better fighting ability for this friendly character. Understanding the secrets of the Dragon Blades is not a bad aspect either! Muramasa is a intransigent Golden Scarab collector, dealing with the locals in all types of items in exchange for scarabs.

A childhood friend of Ryu, Kureha is one of the protectors of the rebuilt Hayabusa Village. Adorning a beautiful Dragon Eye gemstone, Kureha helps her life-long friend, in his quest to exact revenge on the evil Vigoor Emperor.

This evil leader of the hated Vigoor Empire is the main target for Ryu Hayabusa in Ninja Gaiden Sigma. This is the one that planned as well as ordered Doku and his evil minions, to swipe the Dark Dragon Blade from the Hayabusa Ninja Clan. The Vigoor Empire and the leader of the hated group, the Vigoor Emperor, must be attacked and revenge will then be Ryu’s!
